Could you tell us about your work and your creative process?
I have the need to create, and to express symbolisms, beauty, poetic notions or simply ideas, through painting and engraving; creation is one of my ways to connect with life and to the world. In that sense, in the last years I have enjoyed working with such symbols as circles and mandorlas. When it comes to the creative process, I usually start with an idea (which usually comes from a recently read poem or text or from an image I’ve seen) and I start researching until a project emerges consisting in a series of paintings and engravings on paper, cloth or wood.
When and why did you start painting?
As I studied Arts, I started exhibiting and applying for competitions, and the truth is I have not stopped painting ever since.
How has your work evolved throughout the years?
I have evolved throughout the years, and so has my work. One of the moments that actually made a change in the conception of my creation was becoming a mother, from the very gestating process. At that point my
work became more introspective, more infused with femininity. Now, at least for the last to years, I am in another process of change in which I work and research on symbolisms and mythological features such as the circle, which are related to the transformation process.
