How would you define your work?
It is always difficult to define one’s own work; I could say that my work is full of vital optimism. The colours I use tend to be more and more explosive, and lately I choose to give the female an omnipresent role. I would also like to remark the play of textures in my work, which is of course deeply tied to that of colours. Anyhow, my work is very diverse when it comes to the subject; therein lies, I think, the artist’s effort, as he must try to create without getting bored and without boring the spectator.
Could you tell us about your creative process?
Usually, the idea emerges and I try to give it expression into a drawing that fits. From that point, I pass the drawing to the canvas and then a second creative, much more plastic, process takes place: it is then that colour, matter, brushstrokes and painting shades take part enter the process. Sometimes, creation is much more direct and I let things happen directly on the canvas.

How has your work evolved throughout the years?
I would say it has evolved a lot… at first my works passionate and daring, full of matter, spontaneity and innocence, which is, I think, how one would define a young person. As it matured, my work gained in precision, thought and shades. I think that the artist who is honest with himself evolves naturally without intending it, as what we painters do is just a reflection of our soul.
